Immigration in America exhibits

On the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Gates Public Library celebrates immigration with two exhibits running through July.

Immigration in New York State, 1650-1950, provided by the Empire State Library Network, traces how immigrants built a vibrant, diverse and modern New York State. It is located on the library’s second floor.

The Many Faces of Immigration, by artist Eric VanAuken, features a mix of intimate portraiture and narrative paintings that explore the diverse, deeply human stories of those who have journeyed to the United States. It is located near the library entrance on the first floor.
