Exam Proctoring Guidelines

For the Student

  1. Students must contact the library at least 1 week ahead of the desired schedule date for online exams and up to 2 weeks ahead for mailed in exams. The library does not guarantee it can proctor all exams.
  2. Students must fill out the form below to schedule an appointment to proctor an exam. Complete contact information must be provided.
  3. The student must inform the educational institution about the library’s arrangement for proctoring (listed below) before the exam will be scheduled.
  4. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that the librarian has received the exam materials before the scheduled test.
  5. The library has study rooms that can be reserved in advance for the exam taking. If the room is not available, usually space can be found at a library table. The student is responsible for making arrangements to reserve the study room prior to the date of the exam.
  6. If the exam is online, the student should provide their own laptop, or other device, with wireless connectivity. Upon request, and with 48 hours’ notice, a laptop with wireless connectivity may be provided for the student.

For the Educational Institution

  1. It is not possible for the librarian to remain in the room or study table during the exam.
  2. The library has study rooms that can be reserved in advance for the exam taking. If the room is not available, usually space can be found at a library table.
  3. If the exam is online, the student ought to provide their own laptop, or other device, with the ability to connect to the library’s wireless network. However, upon request, a laptop with wireless connectivity may be provided for the student.
