elebrate National Library Week by connecting with your local library! Here at the Gates Public Library, we have several fun activities (funtivities) for you to take part in!

Monroe County’s Department of Environmental Services and the Town of Chili, Gates, Riga and Wheatland and the Villages of Churchville and Scottsville have partnered to hold an appointment only Household Hazardous Waste Collection at the Town of Chili Highway Garage on Saturday, April 30 from 7:45am to 12:00pm.

Valentine’s Day isn’t the only day to love in February! It’s also National Library Lovers’ Month- a time for people who love whole buildings devoted to reading, housing, organizing, categorizing, finding, studying, and otherwise loving books. In celebration, we’d love to hear why YOU love the Gates Public Library!

The Friends of the Gates Public Library Book Sale is on its way! From March 3 through March 5, join us for great deals on books, puzzles, games, DVDs, and more.

The Gates Public Library will be closed on Monday, January 17th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Our book drop (located around the back of the library) will be open for returns.

The Gates Public Library will be closed Thursday, December 23, Friday, December 24 and Saturday, December 25 this week to celebrate Christmas! Be sure to stock up on your favorite reads before those dates.

Per New York State mandate effective 12/13/21, masks must be worn in the library regardless of vaccination status.

Our Food for Fines drive was a huge success! Thanks to your generosity, we will be donating 6 full boxes of donated food and toiletries to Linda’s Cupboard at Hope Hall.
