Fall Library Programs

Children's Programs

  • Preschool Dance Party: Put on your dancing shoes and come and dance, march, ans wiggle with us! Friday, Sept. 12, 10:00am - 10:30am. Ages 1 - 5.
  • Sign-Up Saturday: September is Library Card Sign Up month! Come to the library today for a presentation by Rochester Kung Fu and Fitness and giveaways! Saturday, Sept. 13, 10:00am - 5:00pm. All ages. 
  • Talk Like a Pirate Storytime: Come celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day with songs, stories, a craft, and giveaways! Friday, Sept. 19, 10:00am - 10:30am.
  • Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Stories and More: This new program will feature stories, songs, activities, and a craft. For children in kindergarten - 2nd grade. Thursday, Sept. 25, 6:30pm - 7:15pm.

Teen Programs

  • Tween Craft: Foil Leaf Decoration: Make a foil leaf decoration. All materials provided. Ages 8 - 13. Tuesday, Sept. 16. 6:30pm - 7:30pm.
  • Tween Craft: Tied Pillow: Make a tied pillow. All materials provided. Ages 8 - 13. Tuesday, Oct. 7. 6:30pm - 7:30pm.
  • Tween Craft: Three-Dimensional Haunted House: Make a 3D haunted house. All materials provided. Ages 8 - 13. Tuesday, 21. 6:30pm - 7:30pm.
  • Introduction to Creative Writing: Jennifer Case will help you explore the basics of creative writing through a variety of activities in this two part class. Participants read and discuss a short story, respond to writing prompts, and have the opportunity to share their efforts in a safe and friendly workshop setting. Ages teen - adult. Monday, Oct. 20 and Monday, Oct. 27, 6:30pm - 8:30pm. 

Adult Programs

  • Antiques Appraisal Roadshow: Antiques expert H. Price Prazar will offer a verbal appraisal of your special family heirloom or treasure during this program. Mr. Prazar has done individual appraisals since 1984 and has worked with WXXI on their Antique Road Show program. Thursday, Sept. 18th. 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
  • A Woman's Guide to Money Matters: We'll discuss preparing for retirement, living in retirement, and paying for a child's education expenses from a woman's point of view. Thursday, Sept. 18th. 6:30pm - 8:00pm.
  • EmPower New York: Save Energy, Save $$$: Get information on low-cost and no-cost energy efficiency measures for homes and apartments. Monday, Sept. 22. 6:30pm - 8:00pm.
