2018 Girls Who Code Program

Sep 6th, 2018 at 1:31 PM

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization which aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science. The organization is working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. Our after school club is open to girls in grades 6 – 12. We will meet every Thursday (except November 22nd) from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at the Gates Public Library. The club will start on September 20th and end on December 20th. To register please fill out this form. The girls will learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basis for all programming languages. They will also work in teams to design a website that solves real world problems the girls care about. For more info please checkout our Google Slides Presentation on the program.
