Meet the Staff: Jen

What do you do at the Gates Public Library? I am a library clerk in technical services, processing children and teen books. I also work at the circulation desk a few times a week. What book has changed your life and how? Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. This is a very thoughtful and insightful book that made me think about life in a different way. My favorite Richard Bach quote is: "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof." What book made the biggest impact on you as a child? I loved and still love all books by Chris Van Allsburg. My favorite is The Mysteries of Harris Burdick because I loved looking at the illustrations and reading the short descriptions and thinking about my own stories behind the illustrations. You wake up to find your house is burning down. You only have time to save one object. What is it? I would rescue my dog first, but I would probably grab my cell phone right after that! What is your spirit guide animal? Wolf. All of the titles under "Staff Recommendations" were selected by Jen.
