Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Gates Public Library is a volunteer organization that raises funds to support library programs and new services that we might not otherwise be able to offer.
The Friends of the Library meet at the Gates Public Library on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM. Meetings are held February though November.
You can support the Gates Public Library by joining the Friends of the Gates Public Library for $5.00 annually, attending the Friends of the Library meetings, purchasing books from the Friends of the Library bookstore and book sales, or by donating your used books, DVDs, and video games to the Friends of the Gates Public Library. You can also like the Friends of the Gates Public Library on Facebook.
How the Friends Support the Gates Public Library
Sam and Doris Palma Memorial Bookstore
You can purchase recently published, gently used books from the bookstore located in the library atrium. All proceeds benefit the Gates Public Library.
Each year the Friends of the Library hold two book sales in the Town of Gates Recreation Room located at 1605 Buffalo Road, and a holiday sale at the Gates Public Library that features books that are in "like new" condition. The Friends of the Library also hold a four hour sale at the Gates Town Hall on the first Thursday of each month from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
