Your financial support is tax deductible and helps support library programs and new services for people of all ages.
What to Donate
Please consider donating your used books, DVDs, video games, CDs, and magazines. Your donation is tax deductible.
The Friends of the Gates Public Library bookstore and book sales are the primary source of supplementary income for the library. All of the items sold at these sales are donations from our patrons, and the proceeds help fund library programs and services that we would otherwise not be able to offer.
We are unable to accept encyclopedias, textbooks, newspapers, or books in poor condition.
Where to Donate
If you have one or two boxes of books, you can bring them to the circulation desk at the Gates Public Library.
Larger quantities of books can be taken to the Friends of the Gates Public Library storage area located in the Town of Gates Recreation Room at 1605 Buffalo Road from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Tuesdays. You can also arrange for the books to be picked up from your house, or schedule alternate drop off times by emailing the Friends of the Gates Public Library at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Friends of the Gates Public Library are able to sustain their fundraising activities thanks to the many volunteers who donate their time. We can use your help, whether you looking to volunteer weekly, or only have a few hours to give here and there. Some of the volunteer opportunities include sorting donated books, stocking the bookstore, and planning and staffing the book sales.
For more information on volunteer opportunities, please email email@example.com or attend one of the monthly Friends of the Gates Public Library meetings.
